The A-listers, who spent their first weekend as a married couple at the famed Inn at Little Washington in Rappahannock County, VA, stopped by the historic Stonyman Gourmet Farmer on Saturday, Sept. 15. There, an eyewitness saw the two get ready for an intimate stroll.
How did the lovebirds prepare?
“They were taking some food to go,” said the eyewitness. The 18th century mercantile café is famous for its surroundings, including a dairy farm, gardens and colonial structures in the tiny countryside town.
“They took little foods, fresh goods and local cheeses. They said they were going to take a walk together and simply looked like relaxed, real people.”
And it was obvious that it was a very special weekend for the two.
“They looked so in love, but dignified,” said the eyewitness. “They didn’t stand out, and it was on purpose. They dressed in country garb and were very sweet together.”
In addition, Reynolds’ happiness was obvious.
“He was very charming. He did all the talking, and she was very quiet,” said the source. “They acted like a very elegant couple. They were just two attractive people and were very discreet.”
The Stonyman visit isn’t the only stop the twosome made over the weekend: they were also spotted almost 200 miles away in Hockessin, DE. There, they indulged their sweet tooth at Woodside Farm Creamery with some homemade ice cream, according to an employee.
But by Monday, it was back to business as the couple made their way back to New York City in time for Lively to begin filming her Gossip Girl series.
As Celebuzz previously reported, Lively and Reynolds wed in front of 60 of their closest friends and family on Sept. 9. The South Carolina nuptials boasted a performance from Florence + The Machine frontwoman Florence Welch.
Famed shoe designer Christian Louboutin gifted Lively with a pair of custom-made Louboutins to wear on her walk down the aisle. When it came to her dress, the actress wore a custom Marchesa gown — and a Lorraine Schwartz sparkler on her finger.
