“As you know, at first I wasn’t sure that I should even be The Bachelorette, but I am a hopeless romantic and I do believe in the show,” Maynard told People late Tuesday night in a statement. “I have no regrets because I did find love and shared an incredible journey with a really special person – and you know what, we tried our best because the love between us was so real.”
Of course, fans of The Bachelorette shouldn’t be all that surprised by Maynard and Holm’s breakup. Not only were they the subject of a myriad of tabloid rumors this summer, they were also part of a franchise that matches couples about as successfully as Lindsay Lohan can stay out of jail.
In fact, only two — yes, two — couples have lasted since The Bachelorette premiered in 2003. (The togetherness track record for The Bachelor is even worse: 0 for 16.)
So, who’s still together — and who have called it quits?
