“We have been very lucky to have had a peaceful few weeks at home, but I would like to release this myself before others do,” Fox wrote announcing the Sept. 27 birth of her son her Facebook Wednesday, adding that the new bundle of joy is “healthy, happy, and perfect.”
“We are humbled to have the opportunity to call ourselves the parents of this beautiful soul,” she continued, “and I am forever grateful to God for allowing me to know this kind of boundless, immaculate love. Thanks to those of you who wish to send your positive energy and well wishes. May God bless you and your families abundantly.”
What did the proud parents name their first born?
The weeks-old bambino goes by Noah Shannon Green. There’s no word on what special significance the moniker might have to the couple, but Noah is a name deeply rooted in religious history.
Derived from a Hebrew word meaning “rest” or “comfort,” Noah is best known for, well, his biblical Ark. In the Old Testament, a builder by the name of Noah constructed an ark to rescue family and animals alike from the impending great flood.
But Noah has since been appropriated by folks far beyond Judaism. In fact, it currently ranks in the top 10 names in the United States. And in 2009, Noah hit its all-time high (since Social Security Administration began tracking the data) as the ninth most popular moniker, given to over 17,000 newborn Americans.
