Having trouble figuring out which dress is made by one of the red carpet’s most beloved designers — and which is made by none other than our favorite place to score the latest trends?
Oscar nominee Helen Hunt could have had her pick of designers — Armani, Versace, Valentino — for her red carpet appearance, but she chose a custom couture midnight-blue gown from the budget-friendly retailer for this year’s Oscars, a first for the mass retailer.
The custom couture midnight blue gown was made of silk satin and made specially for Hunt.
“It’s an honor and joy to design this gown for one of the most amazing actresses in the world. We admire Helen Hunt and it feels fantastic to create a gown for such a memorable occasion,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design.
How cool of Hunt to break outside the designer box and go with something designed by a more accessible brand. We thought it looked just as gorgeous as the other designer dresses on the red carpet.
