It’s that time of year when TIME names the 100 most influential people in the world.

On this year’s list are movers and shakers like President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai.

A slew of celebrities also made the list, including Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lawrence, who is also on one of TIME’s six covers for the issue.

Here are some of the best quotes about these celebrities, as written by celebrities:

“She and Jay-Z are the royal couple of culture, and she is the queen bee . . . when Beyonce does an album, when Beyonce sings a song, when beyonce does anything, it’s an event, and it’s broadly influential.” — Baz Luhrman on Beyonce Knowles.

“You’ll remember where you were when you first felt it, how you were stuck to one spot like a small animal considering its end. The Jennifer Lawrence Stare. It cuts a searing swath in your gut. A reckoning.” — Jodie Foster on Jennifer Lawrence.

“Like the President he brought to life in Lincoln, he’s a deep-sea creature who’s unexpectedly approachable and thoroughly delightful company.” — Tony Kushner on Daniel Day-Lewis.

“Jimmy’s lightning wit — mixed with a kindness you don’t normally find in comedy — is what makes you feel so comfortable having him in your home every night. And no matter where the joke goes, the audience feels like they are in on it too. That’s because Jimmy loves to share the moment.” — Justin Timberlake on Jimmy Fallon.

“She is unflinchingly, unnervingly honest. She exposes, beneath all that bare skin, a multitude of shortcomings: acute self-involvement, obsessive-compulsive behavior, overeating, oversharing.” — Claire Danes on Lena Dunham.

“He has a spirit. He does God’s work through using the most of his talent.” — Stevie Wonder on Justin Timberlake.

“I love the way she sings. Her tone is beautiful, and her voice has got so much power, yet so much sensitivity — and technically, I think, she’s flawless.” — Celine Dion on Christina Aguilera.
