BREAKING NEWS: As many as 15 people are feared dead after a huge explosion erupted at a fertilizer plant in the town of West, Texas, late Wednesday evening.
The blast, which injured at least 160 others, forced the small town, located about 20 miles north of Waco, to evacuate.
“They are still getting injured folks out and they are evacuating people from their homes. At some point this will turn into a recovery operation, but at this point, we are still in search and rescue,” Waco police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton said Thursday morning.
The estimated death toll is currently between five and 15 people; however Swanton said that is an early estimate.
As of now, the blast was said to be caused by an industrial accident.
