The success of Bridesmaids catapulted Kristen Wiig from Saturday Night Live favorite to big time movie star. Her next project, however, is the indie flick Girl Most Likely which will have a limited release this July.
The film, originally called Imogene, made its debut at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival where it was picked up by Lionsgate and renamed Girl Most Likely. Wiig plays a playwright who stages a suicide attempt to get back an ex-boyfriend. But the plan backfires when she’s released into the care of her former go-go dancer mother played by Annette Bening. Matt Dillon and Glee‘s Darren Criss co-star.
In addition to starring, Wiig also serves as an executive producer on the film written by Michelle Morgan and directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.
