According to the late actor’s rep [via Gossip Cop], the Oscar winner’s body will be buried in a “in a private service held in N.Y. for the family and close friends.”
The time and date of the private funeral have not been disclosed to the public.
“Plans are also underway for a memorial service later in the month also to be held in N.Y,” the rep added. “The family wishes to thank everyone for their continued support and good wishes.”
The statement also asked that “in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Phil’s name to two charities that were very close to his heart: The DreamYard Project and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.”
Hoffman, who passed away of an apparent drug overdose in his New York City apartment this weekend, was 46. He is survived by his three children — Tallulah, Willow and Cooper — and his longtime partner Mimi O’Donnell.
