Never one to hold her tongue, supermodel Naomi Campbell‘s reaction to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s Vogue cover is a bit surprising. The hot-tempered Brit was remarkably tight-lipped on Anna Wintour‘s controversial decision to put the reality star and hip hop artist on the cover.
And yet, her reaction still speaks volumes.
Campbell, 43, has appeared on countless Vogue covers and was one of the original “supermodels” in the 1990s, alongside peers Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista.
Campbell appeared on Australia’s The Morning Show and when asked what she thought of the Kimye Voguecover, she played coy saying, “I do not want to comment,” before giggling uncontrollably. When pressed as to why she did not want to comment, she remarked “Because I am a fashion model and I’ve been working for 28 years. And when you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career … it’s a stepping stone to achieve that.” Of course the insinuation is that Kim and Kanye don’t deserve to be selected for the cover.
But it doesn’t end there, watch the brief clip above to see how Naomi answered the final
interrogation question from the show’s co-host.
