Another morning, another salacious crime story involving Justin Bieber. And just like with every other damned millennial, it’s all over a cell phone.
The trouble started around 10:30 p.m. Monday night (maybe we should get this kid a curfew?) at the Sherman Oaks Castle Park, a complex with miniature golf and a batting cage. According to TMZ, Bieber and his crew got into some sort of fight with another group at the batting cages. It was then that Bieber noticed a woman reaching for her cell phone, presumably to take video or photos. The woman, who is the complainant in this case, claims that Bieber then approached her, demanding to see her phone so he could delete any photos she’d taken. The woman claims that when she wouldn’t let him have the phone, he grabbed it from her purse. The two then fought over the phone, with Bieber ripping it from her hands. Except, whoops, Bieber couldn’t get past the phone’s password, so he gave it back.
The woman says she then showed Bieber that she hadn’t taken any pictures and told him that she and her 13-year-old daughter just wanted to say hello. To which Bieber responded, “You’re humiliating yourself in front of your daughter. Why don’t you just get out of here.” The 13-year-old Belieber then began to cry.
The Los Angeles Police Department says it is investigating the incident now, and interviewing the woman about what happened. Bieber is not currently charged with a crime, and LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera tells the Huffington Post that “it’s too preliminary” at this point for police to interview Bieber himself.
Bieber is currently scheduled to go on trial in Florida on charges of driving under the influence. He’s also awaiting trial in Toronto for a misdemeanor assault charge.
Honestly if you can’t even go mini golfing without maybe committing a crime…
