Cannes Film Fest 2014 Best and Worst Dressed: Day 5

Cannes International Film Festival has yet to fail in bringing us some incredible trends on the red carpet… And today–day five–brought just as many amazing styles as the four days prior.

Julianne Moore and Cheryl Crow both stood out in my eyes, but it was Jessica Chastain who really took the cake, wearing a gorgeous purple gown that proved a daring choice in color can do wonders!  Eva Longoria, on the other hand, showed us how daring can sometimes turn for the worse.

Here’s why:

While I typically love anything Eva Longoria wears (especially at Cannes), this Vionnet dress she wore to the Foxcatcher premiere just didn’t cut it for me.  First and foremost, the ruching at her right hip is very unflattering… In fact, it sort of makes her look like she’s pregnant.  I think the peek-a-boo slit definitely adds some pizazz to the boring color and cut of the dress, but overall the look just doesn’t come together as a whole.  I will end on a positive though: Her hair is adorable! Love a good fishtail!

BEST DRESSED: Jessica Chastain

Unique done RIGHT! Jessica Chastain stuns in this Ellie Saab Couture gown.  While the structure and fit of the dress play it safe, the daring color is absolutely flawless on her skin.  She looks like a goddess–even with soaring winds carrying her dress to and fro.
