In the transcript, obtained by website TMZ, the 37-year-old Yeezus rapper makes some of his most outlandish quotes ever, even dissing pop star Britney Spears.
West, who was charged with misdemeanor criminal battery and attempted grand theft after striking a photographer in Los Angeles last July, proclaims to the photog’s lawyer, Nate Goldberg, “I’m the smartest celebrity you’ve ever f*cking dealt with. I’m not Britney Spears.”
He then continues to rant, saying “I’m in the business of trying to make dope sh*t for the world. You’re in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there’s this lapse in the law.”
The “I am a God” performer proceeds to make a comparison between African Americans fighting for equality in the 1960s and celebrities struggling for their right to privacy today.
“I mean in the ’60s people used to hold up ‘Die N***er’ signs when my parents were in the sit-ins also.” Asked by Goldberg if he equates the two scenarios, West replies, “Yes. I equate it to discrimination. I equate it to inequalities. We, as group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities have to ban [sic] together to influence guys like this — guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check.”
In addition to the heavy duty remarks above, Kanye did provide some Kanyesque humor, stating his place of residence as “Earth.”
Kanye pled no contest to the charges back in March. As a result, he was put on probation, required to receive anger management treatment, complete 250 hours of community service and keep his distance from the photographer involved in the scuffle.
