It’s over! Round two.

Recently reunited group Danity Kane announced their split today. The announcement comes just days after DK’s Dawn Richard reportedly punched fellow member Aubrey O’Day in the head! The two were in a recording session along with third member, Shannon Bex, when the fight went down. The group had been working on a new album, but the fate of that album is uncertain at this time.

In the announcement on the Danity Kane website, both Aubrey and Shannon wrote about the break up. Aubrey detailed the alleged attack on her, without naming Dawn specifically. She then went on to say, “It breaks my heart that this violence is followed by no sign of remorse. For the past year, I watched small lies turn into bigger lies. Those bigger lies turned into verbal abuse. Now the verbal abuse has deteriorated into a physical assault.”

Shannon also shared her feelings on the situation and chose to end her statement mentioning Dawn directly. She wrote, “Initially, I struggled with sharing something so transparent and personal with all of you. However, my desire to be honest with you trumps all other considerations. As you can tell, I have been avoiding saying names. However, this was my personal reaction to escalating events that led up to my overall frustrations with Dawn….months ago.”

The group originally began in 2005 when members were chosen by Diddy during MTV’s Making the Band 3. After four years, the group split in 2009, but came back together in 2013. Though, not everyone in the group came back. D. Woods decided not to return to the group, leaving just four members left in the band. Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon, and Aundrea Fimbres were left to pick up the pieces.

After working hard on their reunion, Aundrea announced she was leaving the group in May 2014. Then Aubrey, Shannon, and Dawn tried to push forward and keep the group together, but it doesn’t look like that worked out. Though, we do enjoy their latest single “Lemonade.”
