Many big-time models have dropped their last name to add a bit of diva and dramatize the effect of their supermodel likeness. But when your last name has pretty much determined who you are, it’s a bit more dramatic than just that.
But Kendall Jenner, er, Kendall doesn’t seem to care.
We still don’t know exactly why she did it, but it appears the 18-year-old reality star has dropped “Jenner” from her name, according to the casting sheet from her modeling agency Society Management.
Not only is the her name standing alone on its homepage, but also on her individual portfolio page, too! Interestingly enough, other supermodels including Adriana Lima and Liu Wen continue to go by both names.
Perhaps this proves Kendall really is distancing herself from her famous family, which is something she’s expressed several times before.
“People didn’t want to take a chance on me, I think because I was sort of known,” the 18-year-old explains during her cover shoot with TeenVogue. “They were a little bit on the fence about it. Some people might think that what I’ve done before made it easier for me to get jobs, but it was actually a disadvantage. I had to work even harder.”
Either way, I don’t know the keeping or dropping the Jenner will help her as she’s already seemed to make quite the impression on the industry.
