For Taylor’s upcoming 1989 album, nothing is off-limits and she’s coming out swinging in a new song called “Bad Blood.” Opening up to Rolling Stone, Taylor revealed that the song is about a fellow female artist. Who do you think it is?
While Taylor is all about female friendships, she does seem to have some tension with a few artists like Miley Cyrus (see here) and Katy (remember that whole John Mayer thing?) Perry. Plus, didn’t she have some drama with Carrie Underwood?
While there are a few options as to who the song could be about, Taylor’s not naming any names. She did dish to Rolling Stone about the feud, “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'”
Taylor then found out the hard way that they were definitely not friends. Taylor revealed, “She did something so horrible, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.” Yikes!
Does that give you any hints as to who the female artist is? Give us your opinion in the comments!
P.S.- Didn’t anyone learn from this?
