Just a day following the news of the couple’s breakup, the “No Air” songstress took to her Twitter to give her two-cents on her amicable split from her boyfriend of three years, posting a phrase that’s commonly found on a teen’s Facebook after her high school graduation. The 24-year-old wrote:
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Derulo, 25, also spoke out about his breakup. Hours after word got out that the twosome called it quits, the “Marry Me” singer told KDWB in Minneapolis that “everything is cool” between them.
“It’s not a bad situation, it’s not one of those kinds of things,” he said.
A source also told E! News that Sparks and Derulo “still care very deeply for each other and will remain in each other lives as friends.”
