The end of America’s golden couple even took a toll on fans and the media like, and remains a hallmark breakup in celebrity history. Referring to it as “more of a media-driven topic”, Jennifer has only words of peace when it comes to the shocking divorce that happened over a decade ago (!).
Jennifer sat down with CBS News to talk about her latest Oscar-buzzworthy role in Cake, a role that was a challenge for the actress but one in which “you access your own emotions” in order to do.
A longtime comedic actress (such as her claim to fame on Friends), Jennifer makes a point in reiterating she always wanted to be a “serious” actress, but of course, her talent to garnering laughs is undeniable.
Her latest role in Cake, however, probably will release her from her comedic ties for good.
Now engaged to hottie Justin Theroux (and being extremely private about it), Jennifer opened up about her divorce from Brad, who is now married with kids to Angelina Jolie (his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star).
The 45-year-old commented, “I don’t find it painful. I think it’s a narrative that follows you because it’s an interesting headline. It’s more of a media-driven topic.”
The media’s “appetite” for Jen is something she considers “a soap opera”, and she ignores it for the most part.
On keeping up with her ex-husband, whom she was married to for almost 5 years, Jennifer says “We’ve exchanged good wishes an all that sort of stuff to each other, but it’s not a constant thing.”
The only thing she has to say about her current relationship with Justin, 43, is “We know what our truth is, and [the rumors are] all just static.”
In any case, we’re over the mood for Jennifer and Justin’s relationship!
