Her attorney has confirmed with NBC New York that the 42-year-old reported to a federal prison in Danbury, Conn., at around 3 a.m. EST Monday.
The couple was sentenced on Oct. 2 for illegally obtaining millions in loans and for hiding income and assents when they filed for bankruptcy in 2009. Their respective sentences were staggered to allow one parent to take care of their four daughters.
“I think she was anxious to get in, get this thing started, get it behind her, and get back to her family,” Teresa’s attorney James J. Leonard Jr. told ABC News following her prison arrival.
“Her four girls are her primary focus.”
