While Reese Witherspoon and Bradley Cooper received congratulatory phone calls this morning, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie‘s phones stayed silent.

In the best actress category, Marion Cotillard was rewarded with a surprise nomination for her role in Two Days, One Night. The much buzzed about Jennifer Aniston, for her role in the indie film Cake, was left out of the category. Amy Adams was also skipped over for her performance in Big Eyes.

David Oyelowo’s performance as Dr. Martin Luther King in Selma was overlooked this morning in the Best Actor category, marking the first time since 2000 that no people of color were nominated in any acting categories. Not good Academy.

On top of that, Selma director Ava DuVernay was also skipped over, most like in favor of Bennett Miller for Foxcatcher.

Another big omission in the Best Actor category was Jake Gyllenhaal for his amazing work in Nightcrawler.

Jessica Chastain missed out on a nomination for her work in A Most Violent Year, and in the animated movie Best Picture category, it was a huge surprise that The Lego Movie was so not nominated.

Angelina Jolie‘s Unbroken failed to get a Best Picture nomination or Best Director nomination, but at least she has Brad Pitt to comfort her.
