On Wednesday, Ryan Reynolds dropped by the Late Show With David Lettermanto promote his latest flick, The Voices. But in true Letterman fashion, the conversation quickly focused on the actor’s personal life.
“When we had that baby I fell more in love with my wife than I’d ever been in my entire life, I couldn’t even believe it,” Reynolds said on the program.
“I used to say to her I would take a bullet for you, I could never love anything as much as I love you, I would say that to my wife… the second I looked in that baby’s eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby. You can quote me.”
Reynolds, who tied the knot with the Gossip Girl actress in 2012, also gave a shout out to his wife’s breastfeeding activity with a little inspiration from a popular fast food chain.
“She’s breakfast, lunch and dinner. She’s a human Denny’s all day long and all night long… she’s the most beautiful Denny’s you’ve ever seen. I guarantee you,” he said.
The Voices opens in theaters Friday.
