Kardashian and West are both surrounded by a myriad of famous designer friends all wanting to dress them any given day, so creating the bride’s wedding gown was something any brand would die to do.
Interestingly enough, Kardashian’s final choice ended up being someone who claims working with her did, in fact, “kill” him at one point: Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci.
Tisci recalls how, when he first began working with the reality star, she was not accepted in the fashion world nor Hollywood in general. Yet he still claims, “I didn’t care what people thought about Kim,” he says in a new interview with Details. “In the beginning, I met her because of my respect for Kanye. And then I liked her a lot and we became friends. I got killed because of this. But I didn’t care.”
His gamble with Kardashian ended up paying off as he proudly admits that “every designer is dying to dress her now,” but she still stayed loyal to him in designing her beyond-beautiful wedding gown that will likely go down in history as one of the most talked about dresses of all time.
“This is why, when they got married, they asked me to dress them,” Tisci reveals. “They say, ‘You’ve always been with us. You’ve been a real friend.'”
