After waiting what feels like to be an eternity, Sherlock fans’ thirst for new material have finally been quenched when a teaser for the BBC series’ upcoming Christmas special made its debut at San Diego Comic-Con.
In the minute-and-a-half clip,Benedict Cumberbatch andMartin Freeman reprise their respective roles as the titular super sleuth and his sidekick, Dr. John Watson, as they return to 221B Baker Street to solve more crimes. (And hey, even Freeman’s awful mustache is back too!)

According to show co-creator Steven Moffat, the one-off episode will be set in Victorian London — as opposed to contemporary time as it is during its regular run — and will not affect the the slight cliffhanger that viewers were left with at the end of Season 3.
The special is set to air this December.
“It’s still the same sense of humor, it’s still very much the show you know,” Moffat told the crowd at Comic-Con. “But it’s in the ‘correct’ era, which was unbelievably thrilling.”
Filming for Season 4 is said to commence in the beginning of 2016. In other words, fans should brace themselves for yet another Sherlock drought soon.
