According to Vanity Fair, Queen Elizabeth II isn’t quite thrilled about the wedges the Duchess of Cambridge occasionally wears to her daytime appearances. While Middleton has never actually worn the platforms at a royal gathering in front of the queen, an insider says the monarch is nonetheless not too happy about the footwear being a trend.
“The Queen isn’t a fan of wedged shoes,” a source says. “She really doesn’t like them and it’s well known among the women in the family.”
“Kate has ordered a couple of packets, she thinks they are great,” an insider says.
Made by British designer Rachel Bowditch, the insoles are all handmade from fine Italian leather and promise “long lasting comfort and confidence.”
“There has been talk of the Duchess wearing the insoles, but we cannot comment either way,” a spokesperson for the company says. “We have seen a massive surge in site visits however.”
The insoles, which comes in a variety of colors including gold and hot pink, currently retails for roughly $21 U.S. Given the popularity of all things Middleton have worn in the past, it’s safe to say these puppies won’t be available much longer.
