The Hollywood Reporter took a look at Q Scores – which polls Americans about their feelings toward celebrities in order to determine their approval and disapproval ratings – and gathered some information to see which celebrity suffered the biggest uptick in our collective nation’s dislike from 2013-2015.
Unfortunately for the 21-year-old singer, it appears that following the #DoughnutGate scandal in July, Americans have a shockingly high disapproval rate for her – a 26 point increase, to be exact.
To put that in perspective, Paula Deen only saw a three-point increase following her racist actions in 2013. Meanwhile, Robin Thicke received a mere 14-point uptick in his negative Q Score despite one of the worst years of his life: allegedly cheating on and getting divorced from his wife of ten years Paula Patton and releasing one of the most controversial music videos of all of time with “Blurred Lines.”
Not to mention, Grande falls second only to Bill Cosby – who dozens of women have accused of raping and drugging them (and is arguably one of the worst people in the world). He saw a 43-point increase in his negative Q Score.
But somehow Grande’s doughnut licking has garnered her enough disapproval to put her right behind that – a rapist.
