Ian McKellen refuses invitation to Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour because he "was busy that night"
Sorry, Taylor Swift
Miley Cyrus doesn't want to join your squad either.

The term #SquadGoals could have been taken to the next level had Ian McKellen accepted Taylor Swift‘s invitation.

When asked how it felt to be a part of Swift’s posse, the Lord of the Rings star told Gay Star News, “I’m not.” McKellen shared that he was invited up on stage to join Swift in concert, but declined because “I had something else to do that night.”

But he did say that he and the “Wildest Dreams” singer have history. The actor revealed that he was once (unintentionally) evicted from an apartment owned by Swift.

When I was living in Peter Jackson’s apartment in New York, Taylor Swift bought it while I was there and I was thrown out before I wanted to leave! That hardly puts me in Taylor Swift’s team, does it?

However the 76-year-old insisted that there was no bad blood between himself and the singer. “Well she bought it,” he conceded. “She’s every right to take it over, I was just lodging there for free you know.”

McKellen and his X-Men: Days of Future Past co-star Patrick Stewart were unofficially welcomed into Swift’s squad back in July after they both performed dramatic readings of some of her songs. Stewart even politely requested to be a part of the singer’s squad.
