Demi Lovato may have gotten to taste that cherry after all.
The singer, whose single “Cool For the Summer” touches base on same-sex flirtation and a seasonal lesbian fling à la Katy Perry‘s “I Kissed a Girl,” recently hinted that she may have had a previous relationship with another woman.
In a recent interview on Alan Carr: Chatty Man, the 23-year-old opened up about the sexually-charged lyrics of her new song, saying that she’s “not confirming” and “definitely not denying” that the song is, as Carr called it, “about lesbianism.” Lovato, who is currently dating actor Wilmer Valderrama, coyly suggested that art imitated life in this instance.
“All my songs are based off of personal experiences,” she said. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with experimentation at all.”
When Carr, who is openly gay, joked that he “experimented once and it stuck,” Lovato told the British talk show host, “I didn’t say it didn’t stick, either.”
However, this was not the first time Lovato’s alleged bisexual past was discussed. In 2013, Orange Is the New Black actress Ruby Roseclaimed that she romanced and “slept” with Lovato in a now-deleted tweet.
At the time, Lovato had no comments on the matter.
