Clips that have been released in advance of the full interview point to three main takeaways:
1. Quit asking about when her new album will be released—it will be finished when it’s finished.
“To me it’s never done until it’s done, until the final moment.”
Note: She’s also waiting on her schedule to align with that of Kanye West because they are two yachts passing in the night, but she thinks they’ll be back in the studio together this month.
2. There are too many great things to choose from for one album alone.
“I have so many songs I love … and they’re so different … that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.”
3. It wouldn’t make sense for her brand to be a part of Taylor Swift‘s blondetourage.
She tells NME, “I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same.”
“In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.”
