Dakota Johnson knows how to entertain a crowd.
You know that awkward phase you go through as a teenager? Well, Dakota chose the Elle Women in Hollywood celebration as the perfect backdrop to talk about just that.
She was there to accept the Calvin Klein Spotlight award from Leslie Mann, and when she used the stage she took the opportunity to thank her famous mom Melanie Griffith and her famous mom Tippi Hedren.
“I want to thank you both for encouraging me and supporting me in all of my endeavors, excluding the time you let me cornrow my hair on vacation and my scalp got sunburned and also when I thought it would be cool to pierce my belly button and I wore dangling jewelry in it,” the actress said, but she was far from done.
“Also excluding when I went through that phase of listening to Phish, the ska band spelled ‘P-h’ and when I changed my name on my cellular telephone voicemail to Bliss. Basically, I want to un-thank you for all the times I embarrassed myself and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything else,” the 26-year-old said.
The Fifty Shades of Grey actress recently opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about the challenges of dating after having starred in such a sensual movie. “Are people more attracted to you or do you think people are scared of you?” Ellen asked, to which Dakota jokingly replied, “You mean, like when they run away from me? I don’t know… I guess that if those are the two options, I guess they’re scared of me. They either love me or they’re running for the hills.”
