Chris Martin and the boys are back.
Coldplay have announced they’re coming out with a brand new LP on Dec. 4 called A Head Full of Dreams. It will be their seventh studio album.
The band has been teasing fans by saying something big was coming, and posted something last night (Nov. 5) writing, “Hi, here we are in rehearsal. We have some news tomorrow. Thanks for being the best fans on earth. Love Coldplay.”
Today (Nov. 6) the band delivered two big announcements, first debuting their new song “Adventure of a Lifetime,” then saying they’ll be performing new songs at L.A.’s Belasco Theater.
UPDATE 1:15 PM PT: TIDAL will be livestreaming the first performance of select songs from the new album, pre-paywall, on Friday, Nov. 13th.
“It’s the sound of us being free and happy and very grateful to be in our group,” Chris recently told BBC Radio 1, describing the upcoming album as, “a more colorful, more joyful sort of thing.”
As for those rumors that this could be their last album, it’s still unclear. Last year, Chris told Radio 1, “It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” he said. “I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
The band is also reportedly planning a tour for early 2016.
