Daniel Radcliffe is one of the most well-known box office names in the biz, so why would he need Twitter?

The 26-year-old actor stopped by Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast and talked about his decision to avoid social media.

“I don’t have social media… I have a Google Plus,” Radcliffe said. “I never hear somebody talking about it who’s happy about it. I never hear somebody saying, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to check my Twitter!'”

The actor made sure to say it’s not some kind of statement that he’s staying off social media. “It’s not, like, an act of social rebellion. Like, I don’t give a shit if you have Twitter. I don’t have strong feelings about it. As long as you’re not being a dick, you can do anything you like. But, like, the other day somebody said to me… they were talking about Snapchat, and they were like, ‘How can you not have Snapchat?’ and I was like, ‘I just don’t have it!'”

“The only moments I come to resent that are when people look at you like you’re weird for not doing it. It’s like, I’m not resisting anything, I’m just not into it.”

The actor also talked about his decision to split his time between living in New York and London. “It’s weird, I’ve spent so little time in L.A.,” Daniel said. “Until I was 21, I’d spent probably four weeks here in my entire life… You just feel the competition here,” he said.

“The assumption is you’re one of the biggest box office stars that’s lived, so how can you not spend time with Jay Z and Beyoncé?” Maron joked. “I feel lucky to be outside of it,” Daniel said.

He also talked about his relationship with his girlfriend of three yearsErin Darke, who he met on the set of Kill Your Darlings, saying,It’s going really well. It’s really good… she’s awesome. She co-runs my fantasy league with me!”

As far as starting a family is concerned, the Harry Potter star says it’s not time for that just yet, but he did look ahead to the future. “One day, definitely, I’d love to be a dad,” he said. “Maybe it’s totally selfish and the wrong reason to want kids, but I’m like… Something that makes you that focused on something that’s not you is always appealing to me.”
