Tyra Banks is walking out on her own daytime talk show just two months after its premiere.
The model is stepping down from her role as a co-host on the FABLife, leaving Chrissy Teigen, Joe Zee, Lauren Makk, and Leah Ashley on the panel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Banks, 41, is leaving the show to focus on expanding her new cosmetics company.
“This is a very difficult decision, but necessary,” she said in a statement. “I will be devoting more time to my new, growing cosmetics company, TYRA Beauty, which is expanding faster than anticipated, as well as overseeing my company’s other entertainment ventures. I will however continue to support the growth and success of FABLife and greatly admire my fellow co-hosts and the talented production team behind the show.”
Banks will remain as executive producer through December. The publication reports that there are no plans to replace Banks’ empty co-host chair.
However, TMZ is claiming that Banks has scaled back hosting duties because she is butting heads with one of the show’s executive producers. The website reports that Banks is “particularly upset because she felt she had been double-crossed” by some of her staff.
A staff meeting was reportedly held last week where execs said FABlife, which stands for “fun and beautiful” life, would be “moving in a different direction.”
Rumors of FABLife‘s ratings taking a nosedive started swirling in October. At the time, insiders said viewership was “beyond catastrophic” and that the network was “already looking for a replacement” for their time slot.
