Janet Jackson is shutting down the chatter surrounding her state of health.
The 49-year-old singer addressed rumors alleging that her cancelled concert dates were due to cancer in a video on Twitter on Wednesday, Jan. 6. She rolled relevant lyrics about lies in the media from her song “The Great Forever” before sharing this statement:
Jackson announced in December of 2015 that she would be postponing 2016 dates of her Unbreakable world tour, citing doctor’s orders as the cause. ” I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” she tweeted. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring.”
RadarOnline stirred the rumor pot when they reported on Tuesday, Jan. 5 that Jackson had a tumor that “could be cancerous”, citing a quote from “a source” in regards to her medical condition.
