She’s all about that brown.
As it turns out, Meghan Trainor is unrecognizable as a brunette.
The “Dear Future Husband” singer recently dyed her hair brown and debuted her newly-tinted tresses on her Instagram on Thursday (Feb. 11, 2016). Looking like a totally different person, the 22-year-old says she made the major hair transformation in honor of her upcoming second studio album, Thank You.
“NEW ALBUM. NEW HAIR,” she captioned a photo of her new locks before thanking — ah, we see what you did there, Meghan — colorist Lorien Meillon. “THANK YOU LO LO.”
The songstress also told Seventeen magazine that she “cried” when she cut her hair. “I love my long, blonde hair, [but] for album two, [my] label wanted to do something crazy different,” she said. “So my hairstylist said, ‘We’re gonna cut it. And we’re gonna dye it.’ I cried, and now I love it. I just have to get used to it. For 14 years I was blonde. I haven’t [had brown hair] since I was three years old.”
Trainor’s first single from her new album, titled “No,” will be released on March 4. She is also slated to perform alongside Demi Lovato, John Legend, and Luke Bryan at this year’s Grammy Awards as a tribute to music icon Lionel Richie.
