Just ahead of Lamar Odom‘s first public appearance at Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 3 show on Thursday (Feb. 11, 2016), Kris Jenner explained why this appearance is so important to Odom and what she hopes the future holds for Khloe Kardashian. “Kanye invited him to come, and it’s a big deal for him to be able to come,” Jenner told ET. “I’m excited. For him to have this, you know, this is a milestone for him to be able to travel. So, baby steps. But this is a big one. This is a huge step for him.”
Jenner acknowledged that it was a huge decision for Odom and the family to make, especially considering the cross country trip, but ultimately it was important to the former basketball star. “He really wanted to be here for him, because Kanye was very instrumental in part of his recovery. Kanye would go to the hospital and play him music, and that’s what he really, really responded to,” she revealed. “He was amazing. Lamar started rapping again before he could talk. Isn’t that wild?”
Jenner also briefly touched on Kardashian and Odom’s relationship, admitting that she hopes they can one day rekindle their romance. “I think it’s no secret that that’s probably right out there, written on my forehead or something,” she said. “Yeah, I mean, I always want my kids to have a happy ending. All of them. And I consider Lamar, he’s one of my kids. So, I fall in love with anybody my kids, you know, bring to me and we have as part of our family. They’ll always be family, so I always want there to be a happy ending.”
Kardashian has yet to update fans on the status of her relationship with Odom, but the couple was spotted together for the first time boarding a private jet to New York. Once in NYC, the couple went to the same hotel together, where Odom was seen taking his first public steps, and even arrived at West’s listening party together.
