The model is responding to accusations that Maxim has heavily altered her image to make her appear thinner in the publication’s latest issue. After photographer Gilles Bensimon refuted claims that Graham’s figure was edited in Photoshop, the 28-year-old is now hitting back at naysayers.
“I’m beyond proud to be the first curvy woman on the cover of Maxim. I was not slimmed down on the cover, and Gilles Bensimon did an amazing job capturing my true figure in all of the photos,” she says in a statement provided to Celebuzz. “This is another major advancement for curvy women, especially those who work in the fashion industry who are working hard to get the recognition they deserve. I now encourage more publications and designers to put more diversity on their covers and runways.”
She adds, “Let’s continue to show that beautiful bodies come in different sizes and they should all be celebrated.”
On the cover, Graham is seen posing nude while holding a white dress shirt. She also poses topless — with only husband Justin Ervin‘s hands covering her nipples — in the accompanying spread.
Celebuzz has also obtained video footage of Graham’s photo shoot. You can find the unretouched shots from the B-roll — below.
