Don’t make a fool out of yourself by showing up to Anna Wintour‘s event unprepared.

As Wintour’s ceremonious “first Monday of May” approaches, it’s probably best that you become acclimated to the exhibit that will debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts at the 2016 Met Gala. This year’s theme, ‘Manus x Machina‘, explores how designers can allow for handmade and machine-made creations to coexist in constructing haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear. The exhibition will house more than 150 ensembles that have been collected since the 20th century.

Taylor Swift and Idris Elba are co-chair of this year’s affair alongside Wintour, Apple’s Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive, and designers Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Miuccia Prada.

Launch the gallery at the top of the page to view photos from the exhibit preview, and come back to Celebuzz on the night of May 2 for complete Met Gala red carpet coverage.
