Ashley Graham is not only a drop dead gorgeous model, but also an advocate for body positivity who you should be following on Instagram, social media, and everywhere in general if you aren’t already.
Or, perhaps you’ve heard of Graham from her prolific interviews and magazine spreads, such as her most recent Cosmopolitan feature that dropped yesterday (July 6, 2016).
As Cosmo‘s August cover girl, Graham explained why she doesn’t personally call herself a plus-size model:
“Just because I’m not calling myself plus size doesn’t mean I’m not representing a woman who is… I’m giving curvy women a seat at a table that we’ve never been invited to before-a table with high-end fashion people who have never considered us beautiful.”
Graham also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated back in February. She dedicated her cover to “every woman who felt like she wasn’t beautiful enough because of her size. You can do and achieve anything you put your mind to.”
Truly speechless!!! This cover is for every woman who felt like she wasn't beautiful enough because of her size. You can do and achieve anything you put your mind to. Thank you so much to the entire @si_swimsuit team! I'm so excited to be a part of your family. I love you all!!! #siswim #beautybeyondsize
On Instagram, Graham shares plenty of empowering photos celebrating her body, all the while showing off what we expect is an extensive and envy-inducing sunglass collection.
In addition, using the hashtags started by fellow model Tess Holliday (#beautybeyondsize and #effyourbeautystandards), Graham posted this empowering post in honor of her thighs and cellulite yesterday, captioning it:
“Someone once told me my thighs were ‘cellulite city’. But I now realize these thighs tell a story of victory and courage. I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you.”
