Prepare to be thoroughly creeped out.
Director M. Night Shyamalan is back with another dark and ominous film. This time, he follows the life of Kevin (James McAvoy), a man who has exhibited 23 different personalities to his longtime psychiatrist Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley). However, one more persona has yet to really surface, and it appears to be far stronger than the rest, even prompting Kevin to kidnap three teenage girls who must contend with Kevin as his numerous personalities as they begin to merge and collapse.
Anya Taylor-Joy (who was fantastic in The Witch) plays the teenage girls’ willful leader. The trailer teases what is shaping up to be a truly chilling role for McAvoy. But can he pull off 23 different characters?
The new clip also showcases a foreboding, claustrophobic struggle for survival for the film’s teenage heroes, set to a frantic, unnerving score (by James Newton Howard, naturally). Please, please, please let this movie not have a surprise ending.
