Seth Rogen wrote a pretty convincing email.
It turns out that if you ever need Channing Tatum to make a cameo in your movie, all you need to do is send him a very polite email pitch. That’s exactly what Rogen did back in 2012 when he wanted the Magic Mike star to play a sex slave in This Is the End. In an interview with Andy Cohen on Monday (Aug. 8, 2016), the star of the upcoming film, Sausage Party, read the hilarious email.
“How’s it going dude? I have what is probably the single oddest offer you will ever get, so here it goes,” Rogen began the message. “It’s a somewhat crazy movie in which me and other actors play themselves stuck in James Franco’s house as the apocalypse happens.”
He then went into detail about the plot, explaining that the role would require Tatum to play a sex slave to apocalyptic gang leader Danny McBride.
“The Gimp is wearing a wrestling mask, and when he pulls it up we would love nothing more than for it to be you underneath. I know this is crazy, but we really think it will get a massive laugh,” adding, “Please don’t take this the wrong way or be insulted by this, we just think it’s a great joke and you would be great doing it.”
“One, what the f–k? Two, that’s the craziest sh-t I’ve ever heard. Three, when and where do I show up?” Tatum wrote back just three hours later. “All I’ve ever wanted was to be Danny’s slut. Is that weird? Don’t tell him or I’ll be embarrassed.”
