Still from 'The Walking Dead'

One thing’s certain in Season 7 of The Walking Dead: It’s a brave new world.

As the show’s creators and actors have hinted over recent months, and this new clip reinforces, the game is forever changed for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his people now. Unlike recent promotional materials, the new video doesn’t focus on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his ruthless followers. Instead, the clip offers fans a closer look at another new player — King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) — and a newcomer in his Kingdom.

In a secession of super-brief images, viewers see Morgan (Lennie James) rounded up by Ezekial’s men and brought into the new community where he’s introduced to the deadlocked ruler’s brand of justice. But what role does the self-styled king have to play in the conflict between Rick and Negan?

Of course, the show’s marketing team knows the leader of the Saviors and his gruesome bat have transfixed the fandom. So, they also released a new image featuring the merciless maniac in action.
