Is art imitating life or is life imitating art? After starring in By the Sea alongside now-estranged husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie may be moving closer to the ocean amid her divorce with her former co-star.
The actress, who is currently staying at an $8.1 million mansion in Malibu, is said to be looking for another rental in the coastal neighborhood to keep her kids away from prying eyes. According to TMZ, Jolie likes how secluded The ‘Bu is and wants to find a place that’s even more private than the one she’s residing.
As previously reported, Jolie and her six children — Maddox, Pax, Sahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox — have moved out of their family home in Los Feliz and set up temporary camp at a five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom beach house. Owned by director Bryan Singer, the beachfront home sits behind a large gate and private driveway while the entire lot is surrounded by a thicket of trees and lush tropical greenery. Though it’s unknown exactly how much Jolie is forking over for the place, luxury rental sites like Airbnb has the seaside digs going at $3,450 per night.
Aside from the multi-million compound east of Los Angeles, Jolie and Pitt are also the owners of Chateau Miraval, the French estate located the couple purchased for a reported $60 million in 2012 and held their wedding at in 2014, and a 1930s masonry mansion in New Orleans, famed French Quarter, which they unsuccessfully tried to sell last year.
Jolie also owns a 1,232-square-foot apartment in New York City, a traditional home situated on 100 acres of land in Cambodia’s Battambang Province and an oceanfront property just outside of Santa Barbara, Calif.
The word’s still out how she will divide her shared properties with Pitt.
