Last night (Oct. 18, 2016), Buckingham Palace hosted a reception to honor this year’s British Olympic and Paralympic competitors. Among those in attendance was field-hockey player Susannah Townsend, who reportedly caught the eye of Prince Harry.
Townsend, who was injured at the Rio games in August, arrived at the event on crutches, which made for a nice icebreaker for the dashing prince.
“Harry jokingly asked if her leg injury had occurred from a night celebrating in the Team GB (Townsend’s team) parade the previous day, but Susannah just made him laugh by saying she wasn’t even injured and had just used the crutches to get his attention,” a source told Us Weekly.
Apparently the casual chemistry was pretty obvious between the two. So much so, Harry decided to drop a racy joke while chatting with the gold medalist.
“They were discussing her recovery time of six to nine months, but Harry widened his eyes and said he thought she said 69!” the insider relayed. “They began joking about that particular sex position being how her injury came about. They both had a cheeky glint in their eyes.”
So will the 30-year-old prince be seeing more of the pro athlete? It appears there’s a ray of hope…
“Harry obviously liked Susannah’s naughty personality,” the source continued. “He spent a lot more time chatting with Susannah than the other girls and was overheard promising to go and watch her play with the team in the 2018 Hockey World Cup.”
