Music industry forecasters have reason to believe that Lady Gaga‘s about to snatch another No. 1 title with her fifth studio album.
Billboard reports that Gaga’s Joanne may launch with over 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 27 after it was released on Friday, Oct. 21. The top 10 artists on the Nov. 12-dated Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on their websites on Oct. 30. Michael Bublé‘s Nobody But Me is expected to debut in the No. 2 spot behind Gaga.
Gaga closed out her release week with performances of “A-Yo” and “Million Reasons” on Saturday Night Live. Her Joanne co-producer Mark Ronson accompanied her on guitar for her electric rendition of “A-Yo” while Hillary Lindsey joined her on “Million Reasons,” which Lindsey co-wrote. Lindsey recently opened up to Rolling Stone abut her experience collaborating with Gaga on the album, calling her a “badass songwriter.”
“Pretty much everything she said, I’m like, ‘That’s a title! You’ve gotta either stop talking or you’ve gotta let me come live here for a month, because everything you say is a song,'” said Lindsey. “It was just the two of us and it was just a very natural process, a straight-up songwriting process. The only thing different is she writes her lyrics out on an old school typewriter, which I freakin’ love.”
Speaking of Gaga fans disguised as collaborators, the Joanne artist shared this photo of herself and Bradley Cooper backstage at Saturday Night Live “talkin’ creative and enjoying some backstage fun.” Cooper will make his directorial debut with the remake of A Star Is Born, in which Gaga will star in the leading role. She’ll also write and perform original music for the film.
