According to Vulture, GG casting director Jami Rudofsky told the audience at the inaugural Gilmore Girls Fan Festival over the weekend that she hired Gosling in an independent film prior, which prompted her to bring him in for GG.
“I rolled my eyes because he was late, and he was blond,” Rudofsky admitted but said that seeing him “in character” was so “amazing” that she called him back for a second audition with her colleagues.
Unfortunately, this is where Gosling didn’t make the cut. Despite Rudofsky’s endorsement, the actor didn’t win over the rest of the team, who eyed for the role of a “football character” instead. She recalled, “Everyone was like, ‘Really, Jami?’” Ah, well, think he did okay without with GG credit.
In fact, Gosling’s next appearance in La La Land with Emma Stone is already stirring up Oscar buzz. He is also currently shooting a sequel of sorts to Blade Runner in Budapest. Find out how you can join him and co-star Harrison Ford on set for a day!
