More details about the engaged couple’s relationship are surfacing just hours after it was revealed that the two had split after a year of dating. According to a representative for Carey, the singer and her billionaire beau have not officially called off their engagement just yet, though there is a likelihood that the two will break up for good in the near future.
“Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since,” the spokesperson tells Entertainment Tonight. “The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world.”
The rep adds, “They are trying to work it out. Right now, they’re not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it, and plan to release an official statement together about their future.”
The update comes hot on the heels of news that Carey and Packer, who got engaged this January, have been ignoring each other for more than a month following a fight aboard their yacht in Greece. TMZ is reporting that the big blowout happened when Packer did “something really bad” involving Carey’s assistant. The publication also says Carey and Parker are dunzo and there’s “extreme animosity” between the pair.
