Fawaz added to U.K.’s The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday (Dec. 27, 2016) that Michael had died alone in his sleep. Fawaz, a celebrity hairstylist, said he went into the singer’s home and found the former Wham! frontman still lying in bed.
“We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed,” he recalled. “Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.”
He continued, “Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was — he was a beautiful person.”
Michael’s manager, Michael Lippman, told The Hollywood Reporter that there was “no foul play whatsoever” in regards to the death. According to him, Michael died of a heart failure.
