Despite parting ways, the duo remain friendly, according to Us Weekly. A source told the publication, “It was completely amicable and a mutual decision due to conflicting schedules and they remain very close friends.”
Slate, 34, even gushed about the Captain America star during the Sundance Film Festival last month, saying, “He’s such an amazing guy really in every way.”
As previously reported, the Obvious Child actress and Evans, 35, first started dating in May 2015 after falling for each other on the set of Gifted. At the time, it was just announced that Slate had parted ways with her husband, director Dean Fleischer-Camp, following nearly four years of marriage.
“It was obvious they had chemistry and were really into each other,” an insider told People of the budding romance. “You could tell they were great friends and just had a lot of fun together. They would hang out with the crew during takes and just be joking around.”
