Ebony Banks, a high school student from Houston who has been battling stage four cancer, received a special call from her idol, Beyoncé, on Wednesday night (Mar. 22, 2017).
Banks spent the majority of her senior year fighting a rare form of cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center where, last week, her school district held a special graduation ceremony just for her. She’s known as “EBOB” by her friends, who assisted in giving her the ultimate graduation present of the opportunity to meet Beyoncé by getting the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE trending on social media.
“I love you,” said Beyoncé when she met Banks on Wednesday night via FaceTime.

“Beyonce is one of her idols. She admires her so much, so we’re trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyonce’s attention,” a sophomore from Banks’s high school told local KTRK-TV.
