Last we heard from 90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Paschel, he was facing down eighteen years of prison. This would mean he wouldn’t be released until after his 62nd birthday.
Amidst this lengthy sentence, reports have just surfaced that Geoffrey has given his attorney the boot.
As previously reported on by Celebuzz, Geoffrey Paschel was recently handed down hefty charges after abuse and kidnapping allegations from his ex. The trial revealed new brutal and horrifying details about the case. This is not the first time that Geoffrey has found himself in serious legal trouble.
Now, Paschel has made the decision to part ways
with his lawyer in the midst of filing for appeals. Showbiz Cheat Sheet reports that Paschel’s latest appeal was not filed by his previous lawyer, Gregory Isaacs, but by Knoxville attorneys M. Jeffrey Whitt and Richard L. Gaines.
It’s unclear why Paschel parted ways with his high profile lawyer, though it may have been a matter of funds.
The Before the 90 Days star drew attention from fans early on when it was alleged that he was hiding a secret relationship! In early 2020, The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, reported that Geoffrey was still legally married to his ex-wife, Brittany, despite embarking on his journey to find love in Russia. Concerns grew when it was uncovered that Brittany had filed charges against Geoffrey after leaving the marriage in 2017.
During their relationship, Brittany faced a wealth of abuse from this upcoming TLC star. The court documents reveal that he restricted her use of their vehicles and always required her to tell him where she was going and who she would be with. He even restricted the food that she ate while she was pregnant. At the end of her pregnancy, he abandoned Brittany in a hotel room where she went into heavy labor and was alone during the birth. The site reports that Brittany filed for divorce in the midst of fleeing the abuse she faced from Geoffrey. She left the country for Canada, and the divorce has still yet to be finalized.
Sadly, this indicates a disturbing pattern of behavior from the 41-year-old. According to a report by Starcasm, Geoffrey’s ex-girlfriend, Kristen, filed for an order of protection against him, alleging that he attacked her in their home. He was hit with charges of “aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, interference with emergency call, and vandalism,” according to the report. His ex-girlfriend’s story revealed a very dark side of Geoffrey and the accounts only grew more grim when she testified before a judge this week.
In the initial filings, Kristen reported a time that Geoffrey attacked her when she returned home and “repeatedly bashed/slammed my head into the hardwood floors of my home.” Geoffrey then allegedly dragged her by her hair and got “blood on [her] walls, furniture, etc.” She revealed that he threw her “body into walls and furniture” for about thirty minutes. He then instructed her to wash her face and began deleting “all contact (texts, e-mails, voicemails, pictures)” between their phones. He then disabled the phone so she couldn’t contact anyone. After this outburst, he tried to “embrace [her] and apologize.” Then she ran to her neighbor’s house and asked her to call 911.
The police arrived and took her statement and arrested Geoffrey. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a concussion. When she returned home, she realized Geoffrey had taken her car keys.
Unfortunately, the ex-girlfriend shared this isn’t the first time Geoffrey had been violent. “In the past year (since Sept. 2018), Geoffrey has assaulted me 4 other times. This includes pushing, hitting, choking, and verbal threats,” the filing reads. His ex-girlfriend was granted an order of protection against him in December of 2019. Two years later, he went to trial for these charges where new details of his abuse were revealed.
