"There are just some things you shouldn’t touch"
It’s been almost 10 years since girl group The Cheetah Girls broke up, but fans will have to wait a lot longer for a reunion. According to Adrienne Bailon — who fronted the female quartet alongside Raven-Symoné, Kiely Williams, Sabrina Bryan — she and her former band members have no plans to get back together. In fact, she very much prefers that The Cheetah Girls simply remain a part of Disney history.
Why is that? Celebuzz! recently caught up with the singer to find out!
End of an Era
Between The Real’s fifth season and her brand new YouTube channel, Adrienne Bailon has a lot of things going on right now. But one thing that isn’t on the 34-year-old’s to-do list right now is a Cheetah Girls reunion.
While many popular girl groups are getting the band back together — hello, Spice Girls! — these days, Adrienne isn’t jumping at the chance to hit the road with Raven-Symoné, Kiely Williams, and Sabrina Bryan again. According to her, that chapter in her life has already been closed.
“I love the idea of keeping things a classic. There are just some things you shouldn’t touch,” she told Celebuzz!. “You should leave them alone and go, ‘That was awesome.’ You want to leave on a high note.”
“It was awesome then,” she added, “and I want to respect that and honor that time.”
Out with the Old
Admittedly not one to hold onto things of the past, Adrienne explained to us that’s probably why she’s such a self-proclaimed “neat freak.” While chatting about her new partnership with Pine-Sol, which just launched a social media contest to give fans a chance to win $5,000 cash by sharing an Instagram photo of themselves dancing while cleaning, the former 3LW singer said that she has no qualms about tossing things out when she has no used for them.
“I’m not going to lie: I am a neat freak. I am so no a hoarder. Actually, my friends joke that if they leave things around, I’m definitely going to throw it out,” she said. “My husband would be like, ‘I needed that!’ And I’m like, ‘Nope! Sorry! Gone!’ I literally throw everything out. I’m definitely not a hoarder.”
Still, that doesn’t mean her plate isn’t full! On top of her busy work schedule, the star is also the proud stepmom to husband Israel Houghton’s four children from his previous relationship: Milan, Mariah, Jordan, and Israel. While she said she’s in “no rush” to add another kid to her blended family, Adrienne told us she does want to a baby in the future.
Things to Do
To make sure she has time for everything, Adrienne shared that she’ll “always make lists” and prioritize what needs to be done — regardless if it’s big venture like starting a jewelry line or something as trivial as sweeping the house.
“I’m the weirdo that has to stay focus on things, so I make lists that I actually have to get done — like take out the trash, do your laundry, change the load,” she said. “I knock it out little by little. When you look at your list and you have it all done, you feel very accomplished.”
Just don’t expect a Cheetah Girls reunion on that list.
